Programs

All groups enjoy our SunDance "Surprise Wednesdays" which include Hip-Hop, Ballroom, and Bollywood.
Culminating SunDance 2014, each group will perform on the last day for friends and family.

Advanced

For those pursuing dance as a profession, the Advanced Program's proven balance of Limón modern with Natalie Desch, ballet with RAD Artistic Director Lynn Wallis and former soloist Chris Larsen, plus improvisation/composition with Jesse Dell, will instill the versatility demanded by today's finest companies and post-secondary programs.

Prerequisites: Minimum 3 years modern and/or RAD Gr. 8 / Intermediate or equivalent.
*Students may select either classical or modern repertoire & composition.

Advanced dancers may also consider applying for IGNITE; an auditioned, one week, pre-professional summer dance program for artists between the ages of 15 and 22 with a focus on the creative process. IGNITE will directly follow SunDance from July 21 to 26, 2014.

Intermediate

Former Limón company member, Natalie Desch and JDdance choreographer & dancer, Jesse Dell will challenge and motivate with the perfect balance of modern technique and choreography. RAD Artistic Director Lynn Wallis and international dance artist Chris Larsen lead ballet technique while CCDT's Carmen Duncan returns with her fiery Spanish dance sessions spiced with gypsy flair. It won't stop there with the contagious excitement of Ryan Scheel's Jazz.

Prerequisites: Minimum 2 years modern and/or RAD Gr. 7 / Intermediate Foundation or equivalent.

CCDT's Royal Ballet trained Carmen Duncan will immerse her students in popular classical repertoire and her contagious enthusiasm for character dances from around the world while Nicole Nigro shares her love of modern dance with an emphasis on creative improvisation. Explosive energy fills the studio as resident CCDT jazz instructor Ryan Scheel turns it up.

Prerequisites: Minimum 1 year modern and/or RAD Gr. 2 or equivalent. 8 year-olds with no dance training should consider CCDT's Summer Arts program.
